Mothers day photo shoot 5.13.12

Happy.  That is the one word that describes this photoshoot.

Happy Mothers day! One of the few days of the year where my mother ever uses the excuse, "It's my day off", the other being her birthday.  When I was younger I always looked at mothers like it was an easy job, more of a joy, to be able to spend all day with me =).  Now I look at mothers and think of how amazingly strong they are! They go through so much and do so much for us, and growing up, my mother never complained about the work she had to do.  Happy Mothers day mom! Thank you for everything and sorry I couldn't spend the day with you!

Happy is one word that describes this family.  I met Ashley's mother about 2 years ago and she amazed me at how strong she was and how she looked at the world.  She is definitely a glass half full kinda woman!  I have seen Ashley a couple times in the past few years but today was the first time I was able to spend more than 15 minutes with her, and in that time I learned that she is so much like her mother.  She is always happy.  I loved watching her and Eric talk and laugh constantly.  There was never a dull moment!  And there is nothing like the smile on a mothers face when she looks at her baby.  There wasn't a doubt in my mind that baby Ezekiel isn't loved!

Ashley and Kayla grew up together and now they both have little boys growing up!  We got some shots of Kayla and her son Leo! He is such a cutie!

Leo loves his vacuum. He vacuumed the sidewalk, the grass, the dirt, and even the tree!

Happy Mothers day Ashley and Kayla! Thank you for letting me spend this day with you and your families.  You are both amazing women and when I look at these pictures, I see one thing.  Happy.

Hannah 5.9.12 {Portraits}

Meet Hannah!

Hannah is visiting her family from Minnesota and I told her I wanted to meet up to do some pictures!  Hannah, Scott and I walked around a local park and took some pictures.

While we were there a boy (probably about 7 years old) came up to us and said "Are you patographers?!"  Scott told him that we are, the kid then stuck out his hand and said "Then can I see your ID!?"  Apparently photographers in that area have IDs! I need to get me one of those!

Here are a couple shots from our session with Hannah!

Photo walk 5.9.12

Some photo friends of ours invited us to a film walk (only I cheated and took my digital camera because I didn't have my film one with me!) around the Denver area.  It was so good to hang out with some fellow photographers and do what we love.  Since we are all portrait photographers, we took a few photos of the scenery, but a lot of each other!

Here are a couple photos from the day!

And Tess's boyfriend, Mike

Bethany 5.8.12 {Portraits}

I met Bethany my sophomore year in econ class.  Somehow we started hanging out and would walk from econ to oceanography every day.  We haven't had much time to meet up for the past year because she was only free on weekend and I was only free on weekdays. But once the semester was over we both were able to meet up in Arvada for a quick shoot!

We even had a couple other mammal friends join us for our shoot!

Enjoy!

Sheldon 5.3.12 {Portraits}

Fans, meet Sheldon!!

Sheldon and I met up on finals week to do a quick photoshoot.  I had finished my last final that day and Sheldon had one more final to do before he was done with college!  We walked down a couple streets a took some shots and caught up on each others lives since we haven't had much time to talk for a while.  We took a short break during our session to wait for the rain to pass, although it was sunny as could be outside!

Here are a couple shots from the day!

Kallie 4.14.12 {Portraits}

Kallie was another model I used for my photography project for class.  We met up on a Saturday afternoon and unfortunately for me it was not as sunny as I was hoping (and needing) for my photo.  It was starting to get stormy and cold outside, but we made it a quick session and got home before it started raining!

Here are a couple photos from our quick session!
