Nichole 6.25.12

I never thought it would be so hard to hang out with someone who lives in the same town and goes to the same school as me.  But I feel like it has been ages since I have hung out with this girl!

I asked Nichole if she wanted to help me with my photo project and have some dinner at my house and I felt like I hadn't seen her in years (even though it's only been a couple of weeks).

We walked down the street from my house to the park and got some great shots and had a great time hanging out!  I guess we'll have to take pictures more often so we can actually hang out!

Here are a couple of my favorite shots from the night!

Cassie 6.23.12

I have to start this blog post off by thanking Cassie for taking on the 100+ degree weather to do this shoot.  It was hot and short but we got some great shots while it lasted.  We met up with her at a park a few blocks from Scott's house and when we showed up we realized that there were a bunch of graduation parties going on there.  Luckily the park was big enough that we were able to around it and find some trees, privacy, and shade!

Here are a couple of my favorites!!

And when it's 100+ degrees out, Scott may photo bomb you for the chance to get a little cool air from the vents.

Dutch IV and Sammy 6.23.12

Meet baby Dutch IV and his big cousin Sammy!  Two of the cutest little kids!  When we started the shoot Sammy was being very shy and reluctant to take pictures so Scott showed him what his reflector could do if you folded it up and let him hold one side of it as it unfolded in his face. He thought it was the coolest thing ever and he couldn't stop laughing.

We tried taking some pictures of the two boys together, but boys will be boys and they didn't want to be next to each other for more than 10 seconds before they were both off in different directions doing something else.

Sammy's mom and I decided that we would let him play on the playground and get some shots there while Scott stayed to take pictures of baby Dutch.  You can see the photos Scott took of Dutch on his blog.

Although it was only 10 in the morning, it wasn't long before we were hot and ready to join Dutch and Scott in the shade!

Here are a couple shots of the two cuties!

When Sammy was being shy at first, Scott told him that we were going to take pictures of him and showed him how to take a picture.  After that, Sammy thought our cameras were the coolest things and kept coming up to me trying to push the shutter.

Lauren + Colton Engagements 5.27.12

Scott and I met up with Lauren and Colton in Estes park for their engagement shoot and I was worried that they would want to cancel because it was cold and windy, but they were troopers and stuck it out through the whole shoot!

When we started our shoot it was a little chilly and overcast and about 10 minutes into the shoot it started snowing.  I was wearing three coats and my fingers were freezing, I couldn't imagine how cold Lauren and Colton were without any coats on.

When Lauren and I started talking about engagement photos, she said that she loved evening light, but when we started I was worried we wouldn't see any sun at all, let alone the evening light that her (and I) both love.  But, colorado was colorado, and by the end of the shoot we got the light that Lauren had wanted, and it was perfect!

Lauren is also a photographer and is amazing at seniors and children photos!  If you are in the southwest Kansas area, she will be calling that home after the wedding! Check out her website!

Scott and I had such a great time spending the day with Lauren and Colton and we can't wait for their wedding in August!

And just for kick and giggles, here is a picture of Scott and I in Rocky Mountain National Park

Ben + Jenna 5.26.12

Ben and Jenna are both UNC graduates (Ben just graduated a few weeks before their wedding, congrats Ben!) and I had seen them around campus many times but never really met them until they asked me to shoot their wedding.  I met Ben at a student senate meeting last semester and he said they were looking for a photographer for their wedding and wanted it to be a student.  I was so thrilled that they had asked me and was looking forward to see some familiar faces at their wedding!

Ben and Jenna got married at the Larimer County Justice Center surrounded by family and a few friends.  It was great to see such a small yet incredibly loving crowd surrounding them.

Here are a couple shots from the day!
