Meet Leah! When Scott and I went to go see her it was just about nap time so she wasn't in too great of a mood. Whenever I would try to take pictures of her she would glare at me like I wasn't supposed to be there, so I would put the camera down next to me, and she'd look at it, then back up at me like, "Why'd you put it down!?". But everytime I took a picture she looked upset. Finally I made an angry face at her, and this is what I got back...

IKEA!

I have been waiting for this day for so long!

Every year when I go to California, I always ask my sister to take me to Ikea. Every time I go, I end up getting so much stuff, I usually have half as much space in my suitcase as I had when I got there. When I heard they were opening an IKEA in Denver, I couldn't wait! I had opening day written on my calendar for quite some time, although I decided it would be best to wait a couple weeks to avoid the big rush. So on Monday, Scott went with me to Denver's IKEA!

They had a gorgeous wedding at the St James Presbyterian Church and had their reception at Clement park. I have to admit it was the first "first dance" I shot with out any flash! I've been spending a lot of time on their wedding lately and couldn't wait to share it with everyone. So enough of me talking, here are some pictures!

Evie + Jake 8.8.11

Every wedding has a story. Someone's outfit doesn't fit, they spilled wine on their dress, or someone forgot where they put the rings. This wedding, had a little different story. About a half an hour before Scott and I were getting ready to head to the wedding, we got a phone call saying Jake was in the ER with possible appendicitis. We did pictures with the girls to pass the time while we waited to hear more about Jake's condition. Towards the end of the pictures we got word that Jake would be able to make it to the wedding, he just might be a little late to the ceremony and a little woozy from all the drugs they gave him. Instantly Evie's eyes lit up!

I am a sucker for love stories. I think that's a big reason why I love shooting weddings so much. Every wedding is a love story. Evie and Jake's was the best one yet!

They both worked hard for that kiss!

Andy + Melissa 8.5.11

Melissa and Andy had a very laid back, beach themed wedding at the Island Lake Marine in Fort Collins. They wrote their own vows and I would have to say that they were some of the most 'from the heart' vows I have ever heard. During their vows they laughed, they cried, and through it all, you could see the love that they shared. It was amazing!

During their reception, guests were allowed to stroll around the island, canoe, paddle boat, dance, drink, and even swim out the the water trampoline in the middle of the lake!

New Furniture

Since I've been living in the dorms the past few years, I haven't had to go out and buy new furniture for my room, well, the time has come that I have to buy some! Yesterday I went to the Arc and found this dresser, yeah, it's a little beat up on the edges, but hey, it holds my clothes, and I won't feel bad about leaving it behind if I move and don't have the space!

Hiking in Silverthorne

I went with Scott and his family up to Silverthorne for a day and we went on a hike around a local lake (I honestly couldn't tell you which one it is) but Scott made the mistake of giving me his camera during our hike (since I couldn't use mine since it was in the shop, again). Our two mile hike took us about 3 hours, between me stopping to take pictures, stopping for lunch, taking professional photos of other hikers as they walked by and saw our equipment. It was a great hike and a fun day with the Nelson family! here are a few shots that I got!
