Steppin'

Today during dinner I could see a large group of people standing on the grass around a stage where I would randomly see a group of heads pop up and down, then I finally realized they were dancing!! Our college had it's first every greek stepping performance. After dinner I went back to my dorm to get my camera to get some shots. Unfortunately I only got to see the last performance =( here are some pictures!!

Beautiful trees!

I had lunch today with Christina, Someone who I ate lunch with almost every day last year and have only eaten with about 3 times this year! It seems like every time we meet up for lunch we end up talking for hours! It was so good to catch up with her before the end of the school year. I told her that I saw these beautiful trees and asked her if she wouldn't mind doing some modeling for me. She only had a few minutes before she had to leave to start working on other stuff but I was so in love with the trees!!

After Christina left I met up with Rachael and asked if she felt like modeling. Since I didn't get much time with Christina I felt bad that the trees weren't being used as a beautiful backdrop!! Here are some pictures from my session with Rachael. I LOVE THESE TREES!!

Freshmen Practicum

My roommate had her "Freshmen Practicum" tonight. I got there a little late and ended up sitting in the back, finding a chair in the dark, hoping not to sit on anyone. I just have to say that even though I was sitting in the back, I was pretty darn happy to have my awesome lens! =)

Lately we've been having that crazy 'tweener' weather where it's not quite winter anymore and it's not quite spring. It's the kind of weather that makes me wish it was May already! Especially since I've been in my room all day working on homework that I have to do for the last three weeks of school! It sure makes me wish it was May and school was out and the weather was beautiful! But I know that it's almost there, just like these buds are almost blossoms...

Since I slept all day on Tuesday I didn't get enough to eat and when I woke up on Wednesday my body definitely told me that! As I was getting ready in the morning I started to get really dizzy and I knew that the last thing that needed to happen was for me to pass out in the bathroom by myself so no one could help me. So I went into my room and laid on the floor and put my feet on my bed and my roommate looked down at me asking if I was OK. I told her I was fine, I just needed to lay down for a bit and get something to eat. While I was laying on the floor I saw my roommates guitar leaning up against the window sill and I got the idea for this picture.....

Large Format

On Wednesday I woke up feeling a little better than I had been the day before but still wasn't feeling like a rock star even though my fever was down from the night before. I had a photo project I had to get done by friday and I hadn't even started so I knew I had no choice!

This semester I'm taking a black and white film class where we use out own 35mm cameras but for this project we were required to use the old fashioned large format cameras. Since I didn't have much time to get my shot before I had to return to the lab I didn't have much time to play with this camera, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next time I get to play with this puppy!

Day of rest

I woke up on Tuesday morning with a slight fever and decided to go back to sleep for a bit to see if it would go away. Unfortunately it only got worse and at one point it was up to 103 and shortly after it started to drop. But instead of going to class, working on homework, editing photos, or thinking of project ideas....I slept! All day long!! And then on through Wednesday morning! I didn't even think it was possible for me to sleep that long but I guess it is! But I'm not complaining. I love sleep =)

I spent all day in bed and was only awake for small intervals throughout the day before I'd lay back down and doze off again. Anytime I woke up, this is the view I saw.

I've loved the pattern in the spaced in this stairwell since the day I moved in and I've always thought it would make an awesome picture. I finally decided it was time to go for it!

I took a couple pictures and then this kid came down the stairs and said "DUDE! I bet that picture looks tight! Well, have a good night!" and walked through the door and was gone like that.

Well kid, I hope this picture is as 'tight' as you thought it would be!

I've had this Scentsy plugged into my wall in our living room of our dorm and every time I walk out of my room at night I look at the lights on the wall and think that it would make an awesome picture, but I usually go do whatever I was doing and forget about it! So the other night I decided it was time I drop everything I'm doing and take the darn picture!

I started a shot glass collection a couple years ago to remember the places I've been and I've also had friends who have brought me shot glasses from places they have been (and no I'm not an alcoholic!). When my roommate went to Germany over spring break she brought me back a shot glass from every place that she landed on her flight over there. Although I love them all, this one has to be my favorite!

The other morning when I woke up I saw the light shining through this shot glass onto the ledge and I loved the reflection it left!

Taking a picture every day has me searching for a lot of different models and today I decided to turn to myself as a model.

I should let you know that I like being on ONE side of the camera, and that is behind the viewfinder. I am not a fan of being the subject of a photo, let alone one that I'M taking.

So sometimes you have to test your boundaries and do the things that you don't like to and one day, it won't bother you at all!

Percussion Ensemble concert

I went to a percussion ensemble today and it sure had a grand finale! Let me tell ya!
