Wake board

For the newspaper we covered a story in the paper about a new company that has two machine powered wake board lines. This way, boarders don't need a boat at all, just someone to push some buttons on a switchboard.

The guy in this photo is one of the top 10 professional wake boarders.

A Stroll in the Park

On my search for a feature article for the local newspaper, I met this girl and her mother, and two brothers in the park. The whole time while I was talking to her mom and brother, she didn't say a word. I took a few pictures of them and started walking away. Once I got about 50 feet away, she yelled at me, "By-eee". I smiled, waved back, and turned back around and started walking. After a couple more steps, I turned back around and watched her as she pushed her brothers stroller around the path, and playfully hid behind the handle.

Proud of You

Scott was chosen to have his photos on display at the Cheesecake Therapy in Old Town Arvada. On the first day of his show, he invited all of his family and friends to come and see his show. When he arrived, there was a flower arrangement from his high school photo teacher with a note telling him how proud she was of him and his achievements.

Scott, I think I speak for all of us when I say you're an amazing photographer and we're all proud of what you have done!!

Kodak Demolition

Today was my first day back at the Greeley Tribune. I worked there as an intern and decided to go back for this month to get more hours for my community service scholarship as well as gain more experience in the photography world. My first shoot of 2011 was the demolition of the Kodak building in Windsor. It was pretty interesting to see all the past and current employees was the building come down that they spend so many years at. Many of the people that I talked to were employees of the Kodak company for over 30 years. Some of the older men that I talked to were some of the original 200 families that were sent to the Windsor division from Rochester, New York. One man told me, "It was hard enough for us men to move out here, let alone our wives. We woke up in the morning and spent all day at work while they stayed at home and didn't know anybody in the town"

I may have been surrounded by hundreds of strangers but many of them talked to me like we'd been friends for a long time!

This was during the Demolition and everyone had their cameras out taking pictures of the wall coming down. I probably looked pretty funny with my big lens pointing away from the action!!
